What is an adverse drug reaction?

An adverse drug reaction is an unintended harmful effect resulting from the use of a medicine.

What should I do if I have an adverse reaction to a medicine?

Give your doctor a detailed account of the event and your medical history. In accordance with current legislation in Italy, patients must report any adverse events and side effects to their doctor. Doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare operators must submit adverse drug reaction reports to the pharmacovigilance officer of their healthcare facility.
